We are compiling a list of achievable and measurable requests to give to Condo Management, board and sponsor before the end of 2024. Most of the items we will require them to start implementing or have progress by the end of 2026. Some of the more simple things we will ask for a closer deadline. Our focus issue for #Parkchester are: -safety and security -transparency, communication, and accountability  - improved efficiency, and timeliness of the service department and related repairs.  -improved supervision , quality, and consistency of upkeep, repairs and upgrades. - end the use of ‘band aid repairs’ for leaks and mold. - improve the reliability of old elevators before they are eventually replaced. Including pre-ordering parts before they are needed since these parts for old elevators need to be special ordered this will reduce time elevators are out of service. -more transparency on how buildings are selected to be next for elevator replacement. - research and update how we will modernize the heat and hot water system in an affordable manner. (Just asking for a plan by end of 2026.) What else would you like to see on this list? This list is intended to be on the common themes that affect a lot of people. This is not our complete list. Women who live in Parkchester here is a free self defense seminar in Manhattan. We are working on trying to form a partnership with PPD or another organization to provide free or low cost self defense classes nearby. If anyone has any leads please send us a PM fithitlegacy.com/optin-50252386…

Does anyone know of a professional self defense instructor that would offer free or low cost self defense workshop for our residents? We are working on drafting an email to Parkchester PD to ask them to create a resident self defense class since they have their own training department. We are asking they become more proactively involved with community members. We are also following up on previous requests to PPD. We will release the email to our social media once it is sent. Pm us if you know of anyone qualified to train residents on self defense.

We continue to advocate for improvements by the condo and the city. We are proud to announce the city will upgrade their lighting from Virginia Avenue from Hugh Grant Circle to Wood Avenue. We have other pending requests for other city owned streets. If you know of an area that needs improved lighting please comment. I texted him the day of the outage and he never texted me back. What is he doing on the board if he won’t even address our concerns? Prevent Package Theft in Our Community Written and submitted by volunteer: Kadesha D. Washington   Protect your deliveries and help keep our complex safe with these simple tips: Plan Ahead • Schedule deliveries when you're home or select a specific delivery window. •If you won't be home, send packages to a workplace or a trusted friend/family member. Use Secure Delivery Options •Enable delivery alerts to track and retrieve packages quickly. •Use secure options like Amazon Hub Lockers, UPS Access Point, or FedEx OnSite for safer pickups. •Email the board to request package lockers: [email protected] & [email protected]  Work With Neighbors •Coordinate with a trusted neighbor to pick up each other's packages when needed. •Create a floor-wide or building-wide delivery watch to stay alert for suspicious activity.  •Bring your neighbors packages up from the lobby to reduce the chance of theft. Stay Aware •Use doorbell cameras to deter theft and capture incidents. Monitor motion notifications.  •Report suspicious behavior or thefts to Parkchester Police and NYPD. •Keep records and video of incidents to push for action with management and local law enforcement.  •Download your video clips of incidents to your device. Ring auto deletes footage after a period of time. •Press charges if the thief is caught. •Only buzz in people you know or deliveries you are expecting. •Secure lobby and rear exit of building when left open. If it happens, often report it to PPD and management. Put Community First Looking out for one another can make a big difference. Whether it's grabbing a package for a neighbor or sharing new ideas, small efforts add up. Let's work together to keep package theft down and create a safer environment for everyone!

Two upcoming proposals we want to make you aware of. St Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church on McGraw and Virginia Ave wants to building an 8 story 114 unit apartment building with 18 parking spaces. A completely separate proposal as part of the Capping the Cross Bronx Project wants to reverse direction of part of McGraw Ave and possibly (in the future) create a plaza on Virginia Ave by the station.
