Everyone is calling this a 2022 replay. It is not. In 2022 the Fed was the seller. In 1994 the Fed sat still and the market sold itself into a bond-vigilante bonfire. That is the parallel to watch. US net interest is $1.1T a year. CBO sees $1.4T within 18 months if yields hold.

The 30-year Treasury is yielding 5.30%. The highest since 2007. The 10-year is at 4.85%, the top of the range since 2023. The market is telling you the US cannot keep financing its deficit at these rates. The question is who blinks first.
