Wishing that something should have happened wont make it true. AMT happens to be true and when rightly understood and framed AMT doesn't in any way diminish the greatness of Hindu civilization or give its credit to anyone else. There is no reason to deny it or "cope" about AMT. Just change the framing of the story.

While Thuban as Dhruva reference is sign of an observation being made around 2300 BCE, it could have been made from many other places in the Northern Hemisphere including parts of Eurasian Steppes. It alone doesn't confirm the location as Indian Subcontinent unfortunately.

This is a very significant decision. Framing is everything, true. The problem is not Indians being formed by migration of a group of our ancestors(they are only our ancestors, not that of Europeans, they were just related to ancestors of Europeans) in the early stage of our culture. Most groups have such history including Greeks and all Europeans. The problem is how its framed. Greeks are also told their origins are from the steppes, but regardless even Indian Hindu civilisation developed locally, its just that a group that was foundational in early period of Indian civilization came from outside, but they considered themselves Indian only and Indians as an ethnicity formed from them interacting with other two components of our ancestry. While a small minority of Sintashta may have had genes for lighter features, they were most likely a very small minority and even they wouldn't have been anywhere near as fair as modern Northern Europeans. We can easily confirm this by looking at groups in India with high MLBA ancestry(like the people below) and very rarely do you see features as light as that of Modern Europeans. If light features were ubiquitous or frequent among the steppe ancestors of Indians, these features would have been much more frequent in high MLBA groups. Many studies that have been used to reconstruct Sintashta are known to have been contaminated with modern European genes, hence many reconstructions floating around the internet are fake. And even if we look at other aspects of appearence like shape of Nose etc they were different in many ways. Modern northern European nose shape etc are influenced to a great extent by WHG and EEF genes. Yamnaya didn't really look European and neither did their Sintashta descendants. And it should be noted that no European has ancestry from Sintashta people, Its only the Indo-Iranians who have it and even within the Indo Iranians, its a very specific group who migrated to Indian Subcontinent and played a major role in the ethnogenesis of Indians. Even genetically, Europeans don't have R1a Z93 y chromosome that is found among Indo Iranians.

Sorry but none of this sounds credible. More and more gaps are filled in Indo European studies and the truth is over the years AMT has only become stronger, whereas OITists dont have any concrete idea how their version of history looks like and no studies have favoured OIT. Firstly its not "European steppe" but Eurasian Steppe. Central Asia is a major segment of this steppe stretching from Ukraine to Mongolia. Secondly you don't need anything other than you own naked eyes, tradition of watching the stars and an oral tradition to record it. You don't need any advanced technology to do it. Many ancient societies had such a tradition, for religious and astrological reasons.
