Today has been a day of disappointments among fellow media professionals. Some colleagues, whose primary mission was supposed to be countering hostile propaganda and delivering important messages to Western audiences, chose silence and inaction instead, leaving the information space to Russian media and propagandists. At the same time, some colleagues from Poland, who so often remind others about respect and historical memory, spent the day during our “hard time” lecturing Ukrainians on when and how we should appoint officials to our own state institutions. And then there’s Forbes, a publication that fiercely defends its own trademark, yet has no problem repeatedly using our infographics without proper attribution while presenting them as its own. It has been a disappointing day for journalism.
