Woke up today to a Martian-like sky, wildfire smoke has engulfed Toronto in a big way! We are trying our best to pump out air purifiers but they are all hand-built and demand has been high this year! #wildfiresmoke #indoorairquality #airpurifiers
@nanransohoff We've been making PC fan based air purifier kits for a few years now but lack the resources to make them in a mass-produced way. Would love to know how one can apply for funding, we'd love to bring this device to life:

@Duckblue777 @joshjob42 @open_erv We use PC fans which are engineered to run in various orientations as many people mount them horizontally along bottom and top case vents. I'd check with the Corsi-Rosenthal Foundation if they have done studies regarding this issue, it is definitely something to consider.

@joshjob42 @open_erv Hi Josh, you can certainly use a box fan in place of the P14 Pros for even less cost. We don't discourage people from DIY but offer kits for more portable or quieter devices depending on their needs. We just made 50 for BC Wildfire, quiet, light and easy to move.

@MikeNMcmillan Our approach is to have a different machine for that application, adding a particle filter will affect air flow through the carbon and vice versa.

Found a bag to facilitate this for medical appointments where I have to take my mask off. Wait time in an exam room is almost always 15-20 minutes. Today was 25-30 minutes run time before mask removal. Not perfect - but no downside. No one even noticed. @NorthBoxSystems
