Almost every role I've looked at recently lists this as an essential requirement, and won't let you apply without this experience. Where are we supposed to gain this sort of experience if we can't even get a foot in the door anymore as a band 4?

I'm seeing so many AP posts advertised that include being trained in delivering interventions with minimal supervision as an essential requirement. SO many of them are Band 4. Since when was this a Band 4 role and why aren't they recognising their skills as Band 5?

@SLC_Repayment Hi, the issue is accessing an account in the first place. As I'm Scottish and Plan 4 I don't have an SLC account, but to be given log in details I need to phone which would charge me. Is there no email address I can contact?

@SLC_Repayment are there any plans to introduce a method whereby Scottish students can get log in details for SLC to check their balance without having to pay the charges to phone you? Seems really unfair that unless I pay to call you, I can't check my student loans balance

I don't know any other Scots who have had this issue but it feels very offensive and it's a complete waste of NHS time and money if they do indeed have to chase every Scottish person to prove their status. I don't even know who to complain to or how to prevent it happening again.

Born and raised in Scotland, never lived overseas and I've just been chased for the second time by the NHS in England to prove that I'm entitled to free NHS care and that I'm not a foreign national. Apparently they have to do this for everyone born in Scotland?

Advertising unpaid work is preventing many candidates from entering a career in psychology and is a barrier to diversifying the workforce. We all know that this in itself is a barrier to people accessing talking therapies. Do better.

I've just seen an IAPT internship advertised at Merton Talking Therapies, 6 months long, two days per week, UNPAID. The irony is that the internship aims to improve access to psychological therapies for populations that the service is not currently reaching.
