@DanielPriestley @novaramedia @Jayati1609 I don’t have a graph to hand - but method Zucman uses is looking at wealth of super-wealthy individuals (Forbes/Sunday times rich lists) - seems clear that once you go from top 1% to top 0.1% or 0.01% wealth of top has exploded.

China's sin is that it still uses lots of coal, but why it has transformed the global chances of ultimately achieving net zero is because it is - single handedly - driving the transition to renewables. If the global strategy was "halve emmissions by shifting from coal to gas" China would not be a player. But that strategy quickly reaches a dead end. If strategy is "get to net zero by building out renewables, and making renewables competitive with fossil fuels", China has no competitor.
