BREAKING: Coeur d'Alene's mayor says the UC-Irvine basketball team also was on the receiving end of these racial slurs. We already knew it happened to University of Utah. Sounds like it happened to both teams and both teams changed hotels/moved to Spokane.
Update: The university clarified, they were not the victims of the racial slurs, but they moved hotels for their safety.
@MelissaKXLY4 The press conference is in a clothing store?
@MelissaKXLY4 No excuse for that racist behavior. Also, very embarrassing. But let's not forget that ESPN and CBS were busy posting or saying things like "Ben Gregg is the vanilla gorilla," and Robbie Avila is "cream" and "milk." Can't have it both ways, folks.
Why did the NCAA even book hotels in Coeur d'Alene anyway? Obviously there are plenty in Spokane if they were able to move. I have a feeling we're not going to be having the NCAA tournament in our town for a long time now. It not only looks bad on Spokane, but even worse on Coeur d'Alene
@MelissaKXLY4 In a world full of iPhones, and considering these are college students, how is there not even one snippet of video or audio of this happening?
@MelissaKXLY4 Not surprised by this at all after some of my personal experiences there
@MelissaKXLY4 CDA is living up to its racist reputation. Embarrassing
@MelissaKXLY4 The only way anything changes is NCAA removes Spokane from host sites
