Enabling girls to make informed and autonomous decisions about their sexuality and reproductive health is critical for fulfilling their human rights and ensuring access to education🧑🎓, economic opportunities💰, social empowerment, and financial independence.
Increasing access to FP is an urgent priority for low-resource settings. It is an achievable intervention that can be implemented to ensure that populations living in low-resource settings have the freedom to make their own reproductive health choices & improve social development
Community‐based interventions such as community support, mobilization, education and home visits by trained community health workers👩⚕️👨⚕️ can lead to significant reductions in maternal morbidity and neonatal mortality, and an increase in referrals to a health facility.🏥
Late initiation of antenatal care may lead to late diagnosis of complications which might have the potential to detrimentally affect maternal and fetus health. Thus, contributes to maternal mortality, premature labour, preterm babies and intra-uterine deaths.
It is crucial to support evidence-based health resource allocation with considerable investments in revamping transportation infrastructure in rural areas to realize widespread and timely access to primary healthcare.
To achieve greater equity in healthcare, we also need to address the socioeconomic factors that contribute to disparities in accessing care and prevent many people from enjoying their full right to health.
Disparities persist in family planning service use among women with lower education levels, those married to partners with lower education background, unmarried women & those in rural areas. Targeted strategies are key to addressing these gaps & ensure no one is left behind.
Women experience a heavy burden on their physical and mental health due to unwanted pregnancies; therefore,there is a need to focus on their reproductive health.Contraceptive use is essential to women’s general reproductive health.
