It looks like 20TB of #FFV1 @MatroskaOrg this week but thanks to @MediaArea_Net #RAWcooked the DPX are also preserved as MKV... so 28 TB of FFV1 MKV ingested this week in @BFI National Archive

I kind of miss the days of #digipres drama where MOV and MKV were battling for supremacy in @BFI National Archive. Game over, #FFV1 @MatroskaOrg won... even those DPX are FFV1 MKV, thanks to @MediaArea_Net #RAWcooked. MPEG-TS are plentiful from off-air telly, but they’re so wee!

Yes, very much. YouTube is actively using the technology for example. A lot of public and private archives worldwide are turning to Matroska as well.

@Art1Pirat If it's two separate films it may be better to have two files. But Matroska doesn't use the concept of fps so you can have consecutively multiple fps. Only the timestamp of each frame is useful.
