@jamestanton You’re drawing horizontal lines (rows of the triangle) to get totals (2^n for each row). Tilt the lines to different totals. For example, tilting to be parallel to the side you get n, then the sum of T(n), etc. There’s an angle which gives the Fibonacci sequence, which amazes me.

@loveofdoing @LongFormMath One of the cool things about high-level math is that almost everything is related to whatever subject you want. It’s all about interpretation. This statement (the Jordan Curve Theorem) is usually thought of as topology but I remember using it in a graph theory course.

@Dean_of_math I would agree, except that students need an incentive to do it in earnest. Even a minor one. Because in the absence of that, it only helps those who want to be helped, which is no longer teaching to the middle.
