Starmer claiming he inherited a Labour Party that was ‘politically, financially and morally bankrupt’ in his resignation speech is a perfect snapshot of his tenure. He used the party to settle factional scores, rather than delivering the transformative change people voted for.

Starmer’s Labour spent its time and energy in the lead up to the 2024 election harassing people like me and destroying the left in the party rather than focusing on policy and a clear vision for change. This is the consequence of that immoral and factional project. I hope for all of us that whatever comes now finally moves this country - and the Labour Party - in the right direction. Otherwise that Reform/ Reform-Tory coalition gov is inevitable.

STARMER: This image perfectly. sum up Keir Starmer and his relationship with the Epstein class. He was their inside man! A deeply dishonest and fraudulent man. He deserves nothing less than the abject humiliation he suffered today.

Keir Starmer was not merely a disappointment. He is a mendacious figure of ethical decrepitude, a man who won the Labour Party leadership based on promises that he jettisoned five seconds after winning - a Labour leader who dared banish from the Labour Party not only his predecessor but also remarkable human beings like director Ken Loach - the gentleman who has taken the historic Labour Party and transformed it into a vessel for the very oligarchy it was elected to restrain. Consider the litany of Starmer’s moral and logical failures. He promised a 'different Britain', yet his actions were a masterclass in Tory-lite politics—using the same maxed-out credit card analogies that once served the austerity brigades to justify his own failure of vision. He promised a human rights lawyer’s approach but he embraced a racist-lite version of Farage. On Europe, Starmer promised Brexiteers that Brexit is Brexit yet stood before those who yearn to rejoin the European Union, winked at them to make them feel that Britain would gradually reconnect, even rejoin, with the EU while offering nothing of substance. This is not leadership; it is a fraud. And then there's the manner in which Starmer and his government rushed to offer Israel unequivocal support in pursuing its genocide in Gaza, sacrificing precious political and civil liberties in the UK by imprisoning grandmothers, priests and peaceful activists who dared support Palestine Action, an organisation that Starmer and his minions proscribed as terrorists for practising the usual activist tactics of trespassing to spray paint military planes that had demonstrably aided in the genocide. To add insult to injury, Starmer performed the diplomatic pantomime of recognising a Palestinian state, in a manner that ensured it would never happen. But above all else, this is a government that has learned nothing from the post-2008 era. Starmer and his Chancellor are playing the same tired austerity game while enabling and empowering the Finance Curse perpetrated by the City of London, throwing in forgood measure cuts in international aid to fund a military spending trickle under the guise of a "Strategic Defence Review" . It is the same old doctrine: austerity for the masses, socialism for the financiers and the arms dealers. History will remember Mr Starmer as a man without conviction, a Prime Minister who offers not a shred of honesty, but merely the cruel illusion of change. This morning @bbclaurak show had Paul Ovenden as a guest He LIED by saying that Starmer took over a Labour Party "infected with antisemitism". This was not true. It WAS true that many Labour members were expelled for speaking up for Palestinian rights, including many Jewish members Kuenssberg did not make any objection to Ovenden's lies Ovenden had to resign in 2025 for vile, racist text messages about Diane Abbott Unsurprisingly this was not mentioned

Keir Starmer had one of the largest parliamentary majorities in modern British history, won largely because the Conservatives had collapsed. In just two years, he managed to burn through so much political capital that Labour had to bring in an external candidate, engineering an election to do so. Itself not surprising given Starmer spent years purging the party and tightly controlling candidate selections, leaving Parliament packed with MPs chosen for loyalty to his project-of-nothing, rather than any sign of intelligence, imagination, independence or political talent. The result is a governing party with little vision beyond misery. His premiership will be remembered (if at all) for two things: more economic immiseration at home, as living standards stagnated and public services continued to crumble, and unwavering support abroad for Israel's genocidal war on Gaza, despite mounting international condemnation. And remember, accounts on here called things like “LeninBalls6969” told you this would happen for nearly half-a-decade. And establishment journalists tried to convince you Starmer was not a hollow, politically talentless man. But a sensible grown-up. This humiliation is not just on Starmer, but every useless commentator and establishment journalist who banged the drum for two wasted years.

I've now had a chance to read this Bill. It is a genuinely alarming piece of legislation and typical of the draconian, authoritarian politics of the Labour Together Project, in which Mahmood has been a key player. The Bill gives the Home Secretary nearly untrammelled power to designate any "group" working to advance a "foreign state threat." They are a "threat" if they pursue any objective that is inimical to the "interests" of the UK. Anyone who "supports" a designated group, like endorsing it or sharing its messages online, faces 14 years in prison. This is so broadly written that it invites - almost guarantees - abuse. In the context of a potential far-right government, it is madness to put such draconian legislation on the books. We already have two examples of how the state or political actors have effectively fabricated foreign state connections. First, in manufacturing consent towards the proscription of Palestine Action, it was leaked to the press that there were links between the direct action group and Iran. But this was entirely false, as the government's Counter-Extremism advisor sheepishly admitted months later to Channel Four. Second, I have personal experience of this. We now know that in response to my investigations into the unlawful conduct of Labour Together and Morgan McSweeney, Labour Together hired APCO Worldwide to investigate me, my colleagues and associates. The end result was a mad dossier alleging that I was a catspaw of foreign intelligence services, working to disrupt British democracy. I've now seen some of the "raw intelligence" on which this was based: literally everything I have seen was fabricated out of whole cloth, the thumb-suck of some swivel-eyed "intelligence" source. We now know that the most senior people in the Labour Party knew about this and didn't seem to bat an eye. Some of them even seemed to believe this web of absurd idiocy. Anybody who has spent time at the coalface of investigating powerful people or standing up to militarism and forever-wars knows how legislation like this works. Secret intelligence is used to designate groups and people. That intelligence is classified, so the accused can't even see what they're accused of. Judges are given secret briefings where intelligence officials deliver doom-laden analysis, but they can't be cross-examined by the lawyers of the accused. Whispers and innuendo, the lubricant of the sort of "intelligence" that led to war in Iraq, are spun into concrete facts and grave national security threats. This is not hyperbole - it is literally what has happened when campaigners have tried to challenge the sale of arms to Israel and Saudi Arabia, where campaigners themselves were not able to see, hear or test the evidence of the state at trial. In every instance, judges have then decided that they have no power to gainsay the State. As this government collapses under the weight of unpopularity and scandal, it is now delivering for the reactionary forces that helped to put it in place through systematic and pre-meditated dishonesty. The result is a lattice-work of legislation and practice designed to criminalise and constrain dissent in the face of genocide, war, environmental degradation and the sort of corruption that turns state murder into money and misconduct into power. There is every chance that within a week, Andy Burnham will be challenging Starmer for power. It is plausible Burnham could be Prime Minister by September. His task, amongst many, will be to seek accommodation with progressive voters and movements that have abandoned the Labour Party. There will be plenty of discussion about the wisdom of that move from both sides. But it is likely to fail unless a Burnham government reverses course on the Starmer project's assaults on protest, jury trials, dissent, free speech and basic civil liberties. And none of that is plausible as long as Mahmood, or any other Labour Together alumni, remains in post.
