I've said it before and I will say it again. In Fantasy writing; if you make a narrative or character choice for a reason external to your fantasy world then you have lessened the impact of that choice on the narrative as a whole.

@LostLoreScholar @FrankPulpwriter I don't disagree. But I must point out that the virtues you believe are apolitical-heroism, truth, the ability of one person to make a difference, appear political to people who hate those things.
@LostLoreScholar Yeah, I realized this around the time the biggest RPG site disappeared up it's own rectum with ardently political messaging and enforced-with-bans groupthink. I got tired of having to tiptoe around discussions about how using orcs meant you hated black people and such.
