This chart is insane.
Government-heavy sectors (healthcare, college, childcare) exploded in price... and got worse.
Competitive free market sectors (TVs, toys, phones, software) crashed in price... and got dramatically better.
Hot yoga reduces depression symptoms.
Eight weeks of yoga in 105°F reduced depression scores by an average of 13 points in adults with moderate depression, and 44% of participants became nearly symptom-free.
There was also a dose-response relationship - each additional session was associated with nearly another 1-point reduction in depression scores.
It's not a standalone replacement for mental health care, but heat + movement is so powerful for physical and mental health.
There's no freeze on property tax.
There's no freeze on the wages paid to landscapers, plumbers, electricians, drywallers, flooring installers.
There's no freeze on the cost of lumber, copper, baseboard, quarter rounds, flashing, siding, window treatments.
There's no freeze on the wages paid to janitors or porters.
There's no freeze on utilities -- on electric, gas, water, sewer (building-paid utilities in hallways, lobbies, maintenance corridors; most buildings pay water and sewer for tenants).
There are currently 57,421 units sitting vacant in NYC because it's more cost-effective to leave them empty than it is to rent them out.
If you're wondering: "How that could be possible? Wouldn't making anything be better than making nothing?" -- the answer is no, because of the 2019 Housing Stability and Tenant Protection Act.
The HSTPA mandated a certain level of renovation for a vacant unit, but did not allow landlords to raise the rent enough to be able to recoup those costs.
If a long-term tenant moves out after decades, the apartment often requires $50,000 to $100,000 in lead abatement, new wiring, plumbing, and structural renovations.
Because the law heavily restricts how much of that cost can be passed to the next tenant.
The HSPTA eliminated the "vacancy bonus" (which allowed automatic 20% rent increases when a tenant left) and heavily capped Individual Apartment Improvements (IAIs).
This means landlords who want a renovation loan would be rejected by a bank, because the landlord would not be able to show that they could repay that loan.
Landlords who pay out-of-pocket would end up losing money, underperforming even what they could get by putting their money in a U.S. Treasury or gov't bond.
Therefore, it's more cost-effective to just leave the unit vacant.
That's why we have 57,421 vacant units across New York right now.
That number is about to get much worse.
America’s ruling class has performed another miracle.
They took the most basic truths in human civilization ... crime needs punishment, borders need enforcement, schools should teach, welfare should be temporary, families matter, merit matters, and taxpayers should not be looted by professional parasites ... and somehow rebranded all of that as “extremism.”
Incredible work, really.
Apparently, a “compassionate” society is one where the violent repeat offender gets another chance, the victim gets a candlelight vigil, the taxpayer gets the bill, the schoolkid gets passed along illiterate, the fraudster gets a grant, the NGO gets another contract, the illegal alien gets services, and the working American gets told to shut up and be more inclusive.
What a beautiful system.
Soft justice did not stay in the courtroom. It metastasized. It became soft borders, soft schools, soft parenting, soft welfare, soft standards, soft men, and soft bureaucrats explaining why every obvious solution is “too harsh.”
Lock up predators? Cruel.
Deport illegals? Hateful.
End generational welfare? Lacking empathy.
Punish fraud? Complicated.
Restore merit? Problematic.
Teach kids to read? Probably colonialism by Tuesday.
A serious country protects the innocent from the guilty. A decaying country protects the guilty from consequences and makes the innocent finance the experiment.
That’s America’s real crisis.
Not poverty. Not “root causes.” Not another fake expert panel.
Consequences.
We stopped imposing them on the people destroying the country, so now the country imposes them on everyone else.

Republicans should start moving now to enact legislation to prevent foreign born citizens from holding office. Because what has happened is that they have flooded the country with voters who have their own tribal and foreign interests that are opposed to American values and American culture.
We cannot have more Mamdanis and Ilhan Omars in office and expect the American experiment in liberty to survive. We can’t have judges who were just naturalized seven years ago overruling the will of the American electorate.
This is not 1910 and these are not European Catholics.
When Jimmy Carter purchased the teachers’ union’s endorsement in 1979 by establishing the Department of Education, the USA was #1 in education.
46 years and $4.1 trillion dollars later, the USA is #40. We are, however, #1 in cost per student.
Multiculturalism means embracing every other culture over the West’s.
Under the guise of “inclusion,” it acts as a Trojan horse that delivers the total erasure of Western culture in practice.
Every person and organization promoting it is an enemy of the West.
Spend around 10–30 minutes a day visualizing a version of yourself that you are deliberately trying to build. Do it when your mind is already calm, especially in the evening or just before sleep, because the mind accepts imagery more easily when it is not being pulled in different directions.
The basic idea is simple. The brain treats repeated internal experience as something important. When a certain kind of situation is lived again and again in imagination, with enough detail and emotional weight, it starts to lose its “imagined” quality and becomes something your mind recognizes as familiar territory.
And what becomes familiar stops feeling impossible.
Old patterns weaken in this process not because you fight them directly, but because you stop feeding them the same mental rehearsal. At the same time, new patterns begin to stabilize because they are being repeatedly experienced internally before they ever exist externally.
Start by settling your body. Slow breathing. Less tension in the face, shoulders, stomach. You are not trying to force anything, you are just lowering internal noise.
Then choose one specific scene. Not an abstract goal. A moment. Something you can step into mentally.
If it is health, do not think “I want to be healthy,” instead see yourself moving through a normal day with physical ease, walking without effort, breathing clearly, feeling your body light and responsive.
If it is confidence or success, see yourself in a real situation where you would normally hesitate, but now you speak without that hesitation, you are steady, direct, and things unfold without internal resistance.
If it is discipline, see yourself already inside the routine, doing the work without negotiation, as if it is simply what you do.
Always stay in first person. Through your own eyes.
What is directly in front of you. What is under your feet. The texture of the environment. The light in the space. The small details your attention would normally skip.
Then sound. The way voices actually enter the space. The rhythm of your breathing. Any background noise that belongs to that environment.
Then physical sensation. The weight of your body. Temperature on the skin. The sense of movement. The way you occupy space when you are not resisting yourself.
Emotionally, you are not trying to force excitement. You are allowing a quieter set of states to appear. Relief that things are simple. A sense of “this is already how I operate.” A quiet internal stability that does not need justification.
You are not building a fantasy. You are rehearsing familiarity.
At the end, stop adding detail and just remain in the general felt sense of it for a short moment, as if your mind has already accepted it as normal.
Let that feeling continue lightly as you move into the rest of your day.
Repeat it often enough that the scene stops feeling like something you are trying to reach, and starts feeling like something your mind already knows how to do.
Milton Friedman on why liberty must come before equality:
“A society that aims for equality before liberty will end up with neither equality nor liberty.”
“A society that aims first for liberty will not end up with equality, but it will end up with a closer approach to equality than any other kind of system that has ever been developed.”
“You can only aim at equality by giving some people the right to take things from others.”
“What ultimately happens when you aim for equality is that A and B decide what C should do for D, except that they take a little bit of commission off on the way.”
Milton Friedman on his ideal society:
“I’d like to see a society in which individuals have the maximum freedom to pursue their own objectives in whichever direction they wish, so long as they don’t interfere with the rights of others to do the same thing.”
“In such a society, I believe you do need a government—but the government has a very limited role. Its role should be to provide the national defense, to protect individuals from coercion by others, and finally to provide a mechanism whereby we can formulate the rules that will govern us.”
Milton Friedman:
“Economists don’t know much, but there’s one thing we know very, very well—and that’s how to produce shortages.”
“You want a shortage of housing in New York City? Set a maximum price on rent, and you will have a shortage of housing.”
A brilliant explanation of the sources of wokeism and the foundation behind most of the West’s challenges in recent years.
A very important read.
I would never have found this post except for @X’s auto-translation feature. The original post in French.

La déconstruction est le virus mental le plus efficace jamais conçu contre une civilisation. Il a été fabriqué en France entre 1966 et 1980 par trois hommes : Foucault, Derrida, Deleuze. Il a été exporté aux États-Unis, hybridé avec
