Remember his claim to fame: In a 2001 article, he revived the “culture of poverty” and pathology to explain the lack of Black progress. A few years back he claimed that anti-racism was as bad as racism itself. 22/
He finishes with his claim that “antiracist academic culture”, with anti-racist -- code word for Black, used pejoratively -- is a part of his problem with the protests. And this is where he reaches peak McW -- blaming Black people. 21/
Jesse wants to paint me as some sort of ideologue but all I've ever said is that there are a lot of reasons to believe this care works, few to believe it doesn't and none to think it's being doled out carelessly. Nothing in these thousands of words refutes that.

I've listened to every oral argument by Elizabeth Prelogar as solicitor general, and I can confidently say she sounded legitimately infuriated defending the federal law guaranteeing emergency room care at every U.S. hospital. This indignation may well be her finest moment.
@jonelstr I think I'm more hoping that SCOTUS squirting lemon juice in everyone's eyes makes some people say "hey, wait, this is wrong." Instead of "welp, one party squirts it in your eyes and the other makes lemonade, but they're both using lemons so both are the same."

@neal_katyal @MonicaLewinsky I had hoped that *one* of the liberal justices would have made the point from the Common Cause brief, highlighting that the whole point of what Republican justices are doing is to give Trump delay. Not a persuasive argument for the justices, but good for the media to hear.
