ADHD is often a lack of brain integration. It can be greatly reduced and altogether erased in many cases through brain integration therapy. Centers like Brain Balance offer therapy like this. It can be life changing for those of us that struggle with frontal lobe issues. This is a very common . Meds might help your symptoms but if you never address the brain integration issues, you won’t get the results you desire.

Interesting. My panic attacks went away because I learned more about what was causing them. And no, it wasn’t all sin but sin was certainly always mixed up in there. I agree we cannot just reduce it down to some magic formula. We are body, mind, spirit and soul. We are complex and we care sinful…the world, flesh and the devil are ever present realities that I have to learn to think rightly about. Medicating the symptoms will only offer band aide solutions, which aren’t always terrible and do offer some good but they will not bolster unyealding change.

@catholicpat @PrestonSprinkle It can be a Christian value without a Christian leader. Just like taking care of your own family’s needs first before helping other families is a Christian value and can be one without a single person in the family being a Christian.

“Journalists are supposed to comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable.” No. Journalists are supposed to uncover truth. This opinion piece is most unserious. It reads like a high school newspaper exacting revenge. Ok. You don’t like Basham’s ethics in her email. Fair criticism. But you have not once addressed her claims. And no, cute sloganeering about power dynamics and age differences is not an answer. Neither is exasperation because she *doesn’t understand* grooming and abusive behavior. Telling us all we are Very Bad People for calling sin for what it is, is not an argument either. Hopefully people reading your blog will see it for what it is: ideological in nature and substance written with much bias. And ironically, that’s exactly what you’re accusing Basham of doing.

Middle ground fallacy as well as strawmanning. You are too smart for this kind of argumentation. There is a biblical way. That way resides on the right alone. There is no truth on the left (maybe at the granular level but that is all). Of course everything on the right isn’t truth or equivalent to it. It does mean that we need to seek distinctions on the right and the right alone without apology.

I am and will always be my biggest problem. I welcome the poor, the sick, the marginalized and the immigrant to agree with me that our biggest problem isn’t those sitting in the most powerful positions but the sin that resides in my soul. Our biggest problem isn’t outside ourselves. Sin is the great equalizer.
