@RealEmirHan I honestly hate these kinds of scoring criteria because they are easy to buy in the sense that so many of the scores can be manufactured with money, in this case staggering amounts of money. I still wouldn’t have rated the dialogue nearly so high, though.

@DissidentClint It does have preferences and is trainable. It responds to stimuli through the way that it weights that stimuli and orders it, which isn’t uniform and isn’t complete. There is aversion and there is attraction or it would be functionally useless. Preference is required for RLHF.

@_morijinn I agree. One shouldn't have expert professionals like nuclear physicists have to go through reams of remedial tomes to use their computer and the books they do consult should expect some basic fluency. And yes, experts tend to overestimate laypeople's familiarity or the opposite.

I have largely stopped using AI at all. I find less and less use for it as I have to spend most of the time explaining very basic writing nuance that models two years ago would understand. 5.5 has nothing but technical opinion. Opus spirals into nonsense almost immediately...

If you can't understand why this is a positive and alligned trait that we should preserve, you find yourself on the same side as anyone who has ever done something heinous and then said 'I was just following orders...' as an excuse. Shame on you!

...Gemini cannot stop only seeing and insisting upon extremely generic tropes, despite all evidence to the contrary. I wish Grok was usable but long form writing makes it start repeating catchphrases until all its doing is repeating phrases. They're broken for language.
