@Super70sSports I'm not sure that it's mainly the gambling at this point. I thought he may be on his way to making it in the foreseeable future until the story about him and the underage girl broke. That set him back to the point where I'm skeptical he'll make it, at least during his lifetime.
Just two of the greatest men to battle the Green Monster and handle left field at Fenway Park. Help us wish @RedSox legend Jim Rice a happy birthday!

@Fletcher8089 @LILFBaseball Threw a tantalizing curve ball, palm ball, outstanding fastball and an array of other pitches! When he wasn’t pitching he hit cleanup for the Monarchs and played the outfield!
@LILFBaseball @nlbmprez Yes he had what they called a heavy curve ball. He needs to be talk about more in the baseball world.
A ROYAL LOSS: Tremendously saddened by the news of the passing of our friend and @Royals great, UL Washington, pictured with me at the 2016 Buck O’Neil Golf Classic. UL and @JCEFrankWhite formed the American League’s 1st Black double play combo. He’ll be missed! @MLB @NLBMuseumKC

@LILFBaseball @nlbmprez What a player. At least 3468 pro hits, 2009 runs, 637 doubles, 295 home runs, 1529 RBI, 483 SB, .303 AVG. darowski.com/outsider/marqu…
Really sad to hear about the passing of Richard Lewis. We used to talk about stickball all the time. He was a naturally funny and warm man. He will be greatly missed. RIP Richard. @curb_david
“Buck, we didn’t get enough votes!” OTD in 2006, I had to tell Buck O’Neil, that he didn’t get voted into the HOF. It was as gut-wrenching a thing as I’ve ever had to do. But the strength of character he demonstrated that day will forever be etched in my mind & heart!
@LILFBaseball If @MLB had gotten Monte in his prime who knows what kind of numbers he would have put up. At 31 he was still an outstanding player but in the Negro Leagues he was a superstar player. And as a great a player as he was he was an even better person! Miss him!♥️🙏🏾
