Y'all are so annoying just to back to watching cable lmao
@KharloKong Counterpoint: When Netflix got an anime, they sat on it until they could release it for binge watching, leading to would-be popular shows becoming a flash in the pan. Now they’ve gone back to weekly releases and shows like Dungeon Meshi have proven to have lasting staying power.
@KharloKong Not to defend somebody named Bendavid, but sometime I really enjoy weekly releases. Especially stuff like Amazon's The Boys or Gen V. I consume YouTube breakdowns in between episodes... Mind you both these shows drop first 3 episodes then continue with weekly releases.
@KharloKong I get staying in the people's attention span or whatever... But I HATE WEEKLY RELEASES. When each episode doesn't move things along enough I get burnt out by the end. At this point I wait until all eps are out then binge it. Which means I'm more likely to forget about it entirely
@KharloKong People act like you’re required to sit and watch it all at once.
@KharloKong It's better for the show and the community to come out weekly. Not everyone has the time or the attention span to binge watch. I like watching a weekly ep seeing fan art and discussions of each episodes.
@KharloKong We’re forcing ourselves to only watch one episode a night. Just to keep it going
@KharloKong Kinda wish you could "choose" a format? So if you like weekly stuff...pick a day of the week and have whatever service "unlock" that week's episode for you to keep that weekly drive going, or do all at once. But all at once is what's leading to Netflix cancelling good shows fast.
@KharloKong I mean the Netflix model of show releases is arguably actively killing good shows because they have no real sustaining viewership around them. Meaning that companies see the interest die off rapidly and choose not to renew shows.
