@JarvisAeneas I have always believed in natural climate change, which has always happened in Earth's history. It's the amount that is due to man made factors that I'm scepital about. Consisdering we're coming out off an ice age, man made climate change is going to be marginal at worse.

Trump is exactly what I want for my country. The Trump administration is turning its back on all the conventions and assumptions of the last thirty years. Through the use of tariffs, Trump is using America's inherent economic clout to leverage preferential outcomes for his own people - reshoring jobs and supply chains (necessary for both economic and security reasons) and despite the conventional wisdom on tariffs, it's working. We're now seeing a re-balancing of the US economy after years of liberal internationalism in Washington - where politicians sat idle as manufacturing and strategic industries were offshored to China. Trump has prioritised cheap energy, junking the fantasies about green energy, which is already starting to pay off. This is in tandem with an assertive border control policy, which as a starter for ten has collapse the number of fentanyl deaths. Trump is putting the American worker first. Meanwhile, Trump's approach to foreign policy is an exercise in hard power - seeking to close down all the means by which China and other adversaries can exploit America's weakness. We're also seeing something of a cultural renaissance as Trump has put wokery back in its box, clearing it out of the institutions, putting the media and academia on notice. The era of demoralisation and self-loathing is coming to an end, and we're seeing the resurgence of the decisive, self-confident capitalist America that believes in freedom and meritocracy. It is the absolute antidote to the bankrupt ideology of liberal internationalism in which we are all "global citizens" and there's no concept of the national interest - where industries and jobs are offshored to the lowest bidder regardless of any strategic or moral considerations - in the naïve belief that if we treat China as a liberal market economy, it will eventually become one. Put simply, if the ideology of liberal internationalism was ever going to work, it would have by now. But it hasn't. It's been an abject failure, and suicidal for the West. It's led to economic paralysis in Europe. The contrast with Britain is stark, where our ruling class looks for any reason not to act. Trump isn't seeking permission to act in the national self-interest. Nobody in the Trump administration is asking "how will this look to the international community?". But to Starmer, and the political class as a whole, our elected parliament is subordinate to a corrupted system of international law - to such an extent that Starmer is willing to hand over British sovereign territory and pay for the privilege. This is what happens when political elites no longer believe in the legitimacy of nations and borders. This is why they castigate Donald Trump. Trump is not only asserting American power, he is asserting American nationhood, contrary to their who ideology of a borderless world governed by technocratic transnational elites. Trump's nationalism is so offensive to the mushy Europeanised mind that Canada and Europe would rather go cap in hand to Communist China - irrespective of its plunder of natural resources and human rights abuses. These same liberal internationalist then have the audacity to lecture America while leaning on the America taxpayer for defence and security. Trump is essentially calling time on globalisation, while Europeans scramble to defend European neoliberal technocracy. We now see a clear ideological divide opening up where Europe actually has more in common with Communist China than any idea of capitalist liberal democracy. This has not gone unnoticed by the Trump administration which is why we see America now pulling out of international bodies and defunding transnational organisations. They no longer serve American interests because they underpin the very globalisation and liberal internationalism that has undermined American interests. It has me wondering what it might be like here if Britain also reasserted its own borders and believed in its own democratic legitimacy - where we didn't look to Strasbourg for permission to enforce our borders, put our own people first, and safeguarded our strategic industries. Instead, though, we're sabotaging our own industries, replacing our own people with third worlders, and abandoning democracy. What does it say about us that the very suggestion of putting our own people first is seen as "far right" and mobilises the entire establishment to censorship? We can only dream of a government like that of Trump for all the actual choice we have at the ballot box. We're not even free to tweet our opinions. As the post-war old order disintegrates, it's refreshing to see America rediscover itself as the natural leader of the free West. It gives me hope that the same could one day happen here. Trump is delivering on his promise to make America great again and it's invigorating to watch. America is shedding the Western liberal guilt complex, and in the nick of time - because Western civilisation was hanging by a thread. If America can pull back from the brink, maybe we can too. God bless America!
