Someone should write an article about the number of times jurisdictions have been allowed to use an illegal map because there's "not enough time" to create a fair, legal one. It's happened several times--in Alabama, Louisiana, North Carolina...and now South Carolina.

There are surely other states where this has happened as well in recent years, including Ohio.
