BREAKING: Federal court allows South Carolina to use its current congressional map for the 2024 election, despite previously ruling that the districts are racially gerrymandered and discriminate against Black voters, because of delays from SCOTUS. democracydocket.com/cases/south-ca…
The U.S. Supreme Court heard oral argument on South Carolina's map last October but has not issued a ruling, despite requests from the state and voters to rule by Jan. 1, 2024. As we await a final opinion from SCOTUS, the state will not have a new map before the 2024 election.
@DemocracyDocket Why do we want to expand the Court, because SCOTUS is, what, too busy to rule on jerrymandering, but it’ll spend DAYS on whether or not grown woman have agency of their bodies? @Scotus needs to be reformed. It’s a disgrace.
@DemocracyDocket The only party rigging elections are Republicans.
@DemocracyDocket Lots of crying in the comments lmao
@DemocracyDocket What difference does it make what color a voter is or what color the candidate is. ? Everyone has the same human needs.
@DemocracyDocket The SCOTUS needs the following: 1. Expansion to 13. 2. Term limits! No "Justice" should serve longer than 20 yrs. 3. Justices & spouses must be held to a strict ethical code of conduct. 4. SCOTUS spouses must not involve themselves in political activities.
@DemocracyDocket Something has to be done. They're cheating over and over again. Take it to a higher court.
@DemocracyDocket American courts act like 3rd world country courts....pathetic
