Putting together a checklist for people preparing to go to Jazzahead. If you’ve been before, what’s your #1 piece of advice?
@Jazzfuel #1 is *relax*. Have a good time, wander, talk to people. For those who return to these year after year, the magic happens when food/drink/hanging are involved. Dive in! And then make your plans for next year...
@Jazzfuel PLEASE check who you are asking to meet with before going on an epic rant about booking shows. 😬😬😬😬😬
@Jazzfuel For artists: Identify four or so industry people you'd like to meet with because you've done your people research, thought about your goals, and you know exactly WHY you want to meet them. It could be a label that is a fit for your music. It could be a booking agent...
@Jazzfuel Train your liver for non stop 4 nights drinking.
@Jazzfuel Socialize. Make new friends. Who ever they are. With no agenda. Hang. Don’t look for a gig. Jazz world is a community of (good) people. This events are the occasion to embrace it.
@Jazzfuel Totally agree with everyones comments, definitely set-up meetings in advance with people that can help you with your music, and do the research on what they can offer. Whether it’s performances/distribution or press & media there are so many great opportunities. Have Fun! 🎹
@Jazzfuel Go to the Belgian stand at 4pm. Best beer in the house 😎 See you there.
