Today let’s address the question why Coffee farmers don’t get a fair share of the cake from the coffee industry. Unfortunately Twitter only allows 2min. Will upload the rest on YouTube. #DrinkCoffee
@jackiearinda So what solutions do you have? And btw the moment we export the coffee the people who buy our coffee immediately own it and its end product hence a farmer who does most of the work isnt well appreciated
@Tobystormborn The farmer doesn’t do most of the work however without a farmer (Production) there’s no coffee. Coffee goes through 4 stages before the cup which actually are the hardest and expensive., Processing , Trade(exporter, importer), Roaster, Marketing(Distribution) and finally customer.
@jackiearinda @Tobystormborn Think about @jackiearinda. Farmers grow seedlings and wait for 4 years for the first harvest while incurring costs to make sure coffee is healthy, which is costly. It's hard to find a farmer who keeps records but if you find one, maybe you will change this statement.
