The Living Daylights and A View To A Kill are the most exciting Bond themes - yes they are, don't argue - because they're so clearly the work of musicians who grew up with the excitement of being allowed to 'stay up' for the first ten minutes of a Bond movie on television.
Remembering the English actress #EuniceGayson who was #BOTD in 1928. Her films range from comedy to Hammer horror and she is fondly remembered for being the love interest in the first two James Bond films, and as such, is considered to have been the first 'Bond girl'.

The Living Daylights and A View To A Kill are the most exciting Bond themes - yes they are, don't argue - because they're so clearly the work of musicians who grew up with the excitement of being allowed to 'stay up' for the first ten minutes of a Bond movie on television.

Remembering the English actress #EuniceGayson who was #BOTD in 1928. Her films range from comedy to Hammer horror and she is fondly remembered for being the love interest in the first two James Bond films, and as such, is considered to have been the first 'Bond girl'.

Maybe the series is done. And maybe that’s okay. It’s 12 years since a Bond film I really enjoyed and 18 since a true classic…. How many more good ones will I live to see at that rate?!
@MAN140473 @JamesBondMinute I'm not in the Cavill camp (age + superhero build are a turn off) but yeah agree with the rest. Most important thing for Bond is that stories stand alone. Craig films can exist in a bubble for those that love them.
@JamesBondMinute Honestly the only way I’d have any respect for NTTD is if they came out and said they’re done now. It’s a cheap ending otherwise.
@B1rdSteve @JamesBondMinute I would agree that CR is the last Bond that can be considered a classic. Skyfall is very good, but I have issues with the script that knocks it down a few pegs
@JamesBondMinute Can you imagine trying to make a Bond movie nowadays. NTTD was fairly charmless & lacking any fun enough as it was, but I can’t get excited for the thought of any new Bond movies in this stifling ideological climate we live now.
@JamesBondMinute I kinda feel the same. Maybe it's time to call it a day. They can't keep making them forever.
@JamesBondMinute Everybody acts like NTTD was the thing that broke the franchise and not the boneheaded third act of Spectre. I think they actually recovered very strongly from the worst 45 minutes in Bond history (outside of all of Die Another Day).
@JamesBondMinute Yeah just slip back into regular Bond as though that whole arc never happened. Not saying it should be a sequel to D.A.D 😬 but it could lean on past events if they wanted with mid/late 30's Bond who can do 3-4 films that can stand alone as contained stories. Is it that hard?

Hot Take: The series is not done. Bond is a genre. It will always thrive. As long as spy movies are made (MI, Kingsman, U.N.C.L.E), there will be comparisons to the original. Bond will always have the GA’s interest. And there’s already a formula set it stone.

@JamesBondMinute I agree - I only enjoyed one of Brosnan's unreservedly - The World Is Not Enough - and one of Craig's - Spectre. So that's two films since 1985.
@JamesBondMinute In the time of COVID, when the world needed the return of a hero on screen, ours was killed in grand fashion. Kind of a bad look in hindsight. I think they could have just as easily had Bond ride off into the sunset until the next one rolled around. 🤷🏻
