Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade deserves way, way more respect. I think the story here is brilliant. Indy’s search for the Holy Grail naturally manifests itself into a story about a broken father-son relationship. Harrison Ford & Sean Connery have special chemistry here, not to mention the casting of River Phoenix as young Indy is perfect. I love this movie.

This scene in "Kind Hearts and Coronets" (1949) where 6 members of the D'Ascoyne's family, all played by Sir Alec Guinness, are seen together, took 2 days to film. The camera was set on a specially built platform to minimize movement. In addition, the camera operator spent the night with the camera to ensure that nothing moved it by accident. A frame with six black matte painted optical flat glass windows was set in front of the camera, and the windows opened one at a time so each of the characters could be filmed in turn. The film was then wound back for the next character. Most of the time was spent waiting for Guinness to be made up as the next character. @SpyHards I would've loved a sequel to When Eight Bells Toll w/ a young Anthony Hopkins. Angelina Jolie's Evelyn Salt also deserved a sequel. And I hope Matthew Vaughn makes the Argylle prequel where we get the young Aubrey Argylle portrayed by Louis Partridge in the credits scene.

@SpyHards I think they could still do a sequel to Salt. And weren't we promised a sequel to Atomic Blonde? Another film I wish had a sequel is 1971's When Eight Bells Toll, from a 1966 Alistair MacLean novel. I wish the book had a sequel too.

The Aston Martin used by James Bond (George Lazenby) in On Her Majesty's Secret Service was a green, six cylinder DBS. The car can be seen in several scenes in the movie, for example in the beginning of the movie when Bond is chasing after Tracy, and then again during the wedding. Unlike Bond's previous car, the silver Aston Martin DB5, no gadgets were seen in this car, other than a mounting for a telescopic-sight rifle in the glove compartment. In the final scenes of the film, Tracy is shot and killed while sitting in the car. Trivia The number on the license plate of Bond's Aston Martin is GKX 8G.

And yes, boys and girls, that thing you saw on 007 ThunderBall was for real Meet the Bell Rocket Belt from the early 60s. This small propulsion device enables a person to fly short distances using low rocket power with non-combusting gas. (as a note, a thing that always cracks me up on this scene: where did he get the helmet?)

A German king allowed the women of a captured city to leave with whatever they could carry—but he never expected what came next.. In 1140, King Conrad III laid siege to the town of Weinsberg in what is now southwestern Germany, then part of the Holy Roman Empire. Before capturing the city, he granted the women safe passage and allowed them to take with them whatever they could carry on their shoulders. Rather than gathering their valuables, the women emerged carrying their husbands. Faced with their ingenuity, Conrad reportedly laughed and chose to honor his promise, declaring that a king should always keep his word. The women who saved both their husbands and their city became known as the Treue Weiber von Weinsberg (“Loyal Wives of Weinsberg”). The ruins of the castle still stand today and are known as Weibertreu (“Wifely Loyalty”) in memory of the famous story.

One of the astronauts just announced for Artemis III, Luca Parmitano, once came terrifyingly close to dying during a spacewalk. In 2013, water began leaking into his helmet during a spacewalk outside the ISS. The leak got so bad that his eyes, ears, and nose were submerged, leaving him nearly blind and struggling to breathe as he fought his way back to the airlock. NASA later described it as one of the most serious spacewalk incidents ever. Now, more than a decade later, Parmitano is selected for Artemis III pilot. From nearly drowning in space to helping lead humanity’s return to the Moon. What a remarkable full-circle moment.
