Nevada legislators have just introduced a bill to give $380 million in public taxpayer dollars to the Oakland Athletics to build a ballpark on the Las Vegas Strip.
@LasVegasLocally fox5vegas.com/2023/05/26/oak… It’s $25 million in actual county taxpayer dollars, $120 million in county bonds (think of it like a credit card that the As are responsible for), $180 million in Nevada tax credits.
@JaclynFOX5Vegas @LasVegasLocally And to be clear, the bonds are being paid via TIF and the tax breaks are only for the ballpark site. In other words, those "breaks" only exist because of the existence of the ball park not in spite of it. This would be good to point out, you know, as a media company.
@JaclynFOX5Vegas @LasVegasLocally How much did @JaclynFOX5Vegas get paid to post this?
@JaclynFOX5Vegas @LasVegasLocally @DavidPSamson any thoughts on this bill? i can imagine…
@JaclynFOX5Vegas @LasVegasLocally Oh man… couldn’t imagine playing baseball there in July and August!!
