Nice paper. The way we solved segmentation in Claybook (multiple materials) only handled perfectly the simple cases: 1 material in a voxel or 2 materials in a voxel. More than that was "messy", but our voxels were so small that it didn't matter for us. Runtime was 2x gather4 :)

Further to this retweet from the other day, 11 EU countries have now signed up to “Plan S”, which requires publicly-funded scientists to publish their work in open-access journals by 2020: economist.com/open-future/20…. If you're in computer graphics, could I suggest @JCGT_announce :)
In Belgium, scientific papers that originate from public funds can now all be made public in open access, regardless of any contract with publishers. It is written in the law. And retroactive.

Terrific news! The JCGT journal (jcgt.org, @JCGT_announce) invited extended journal papers from ALL @I3DCONF short papers for the first time. JCGT authors of new papers will also be able to present their work at I3D'19.
