Obituary It is with profound sorrow that the International Islamic University Islamabad announces the passing of Mr. Mustafa Muzaffar, a student of BS Biotechnology (Registration No. 1957/FoS-BSBT/S23) in the Faculty of Sciences. At the time of his passing, he was in the eighth semester of his degree, standing close to the completion of the academic journey he had pursued with dedication and hope. Mustafa was a valued member of the university family. He will be remembered by his teachers, classmates, and colleagues for his presence among them and for the promise that his young life carried. The leadership of the International Islamic University Islamabad extends its deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family, friends, and fellow students of the late Mr. Mustafa Muzaffar. "It is with a heavy heart that I received the tragic news of the passing of our dear student, Mr. Mustafa Muzaffar. The loss of a young student, on the threshold of completing his degree and beginning his life's work, is among the most painful losses a university can endure" , said IIUI President and Acting Rector, Prof. Dr Ahmed Saad Alahmed.

IIUI Alumnus Prof. Dr. Hafiz Aziz ur Rehman Named Chairman of IPO Pakistan Prof. Dr. Hafiz Aziz ur Rehman, an alumnus of the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), has been appointed Chairman of the Intellectual Property Organization (IPO) of Pakistan, one of the country's top legal and regulatory posts in the field. A leading national expert in Intellectual Property Law, Dr. Aziz ur Rehman earned his LL.B. (Shariah & Law) from IIUI before completing an LL.M. at Stockholm University, Sweden, and a Ph.D. at The Australian National University, both specialising in Intellectual Property Law. His career spans academia, legal practice and public service. He served as Legal Advisor to Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), Switzerland, from 2011 to 2013, and most recently as Director of the Law School at Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad. At IIUI, he served as Advisor to the President and Chairperson of the Department of Law in the Faculty of Shariah & Law, and was among the founding members of the committees that designed and launched the University's LL.M. programmes in 2005 and 2006. The IIUI community congratulated Dr. Aziz ur Rehman on the appointment and wished him success in strengthening Pakistan's intellectual property regime.

IIUI's IRI, NACTA Join Hands to Counter Extremism and Build Sectarian Harmony The Islamic Research Institute (IRI) of the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) and the National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Friday to jointly counter violent extremism, strengthen inter-sectarian harmony and advance peacebuilding across Pakistan. Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Calls on President IIUI Sardar Muhammad Yousaf, Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, called on President International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI), Prof. Dr. Ahmed Saad Alahmed, at his office in the New Campus. During the meeting, matters of mutual interest, including the promotion of the Arabic language and initiatives for teaching Arabic to non-Arabs, were discussed in detail.
