If anyone wants to help I spent a few hours talking to medical students in Havana today who work at a hospital who said they need N95s or equivalents desperately. I’ve already worked with someone to secure 5,000 masks but 40,000 supplies their entire hospital staff for a year.

Holy shit. Between the two most recent data releases (2019-21 and 2022-24) the drop in healthy life expectancy for women (at birth) was 3.3 years. That's not a punchy sentence. This is: Women in Wales are now predicted to have *three fewer years of healthy life*.

It’s been nearly 2 years since @ONS last surveyed the number of children in England with Long Covid. At that time, the data showed that the number of kids with Long Covid had nearly doubled in a year… …and then the data collection stopped. Full stop. 🛑
ONS is no longer tracking prevalence of Long Covid… …but, at the last count, the # of children with Long Covid had nearly DOUBLED in a year (between Mar 2023 & Mar 2024), rising to over 111K in England & Scotland. That’s over 1K NEW cases in children PER WEEK across the year.
