#Menopause is debilitating for many of us. As someone who suffered from other types of long term chronic illnesses, the way menopause hit me just before my 45th birthday was much more severe than anything else. To ignore that is just plain sexism. theguardian.com/society/2024/f…

The counterproductive nature of a "tough" benefits system that seeks to punish jobseekers for being unemployed and force them into jobs they are neither suited for nor interested in helps, as @Dr_KatyJones says, absolutely nobody: surely it is time for a more sensible approach?

Had a great time speaking at #BritSoc24 this morning about some of our preliminary findings for the @Hybrid_Working project: or rather watching myself speak, as the talk was recorded a few weeks ago! A really interesting model for academic conferences.
Both the #BritSoc24 & #MPSA24 / #MPSA2024 Annual Conferences are happening this week. I really like that audience members, presenters, chairs, & discussants can participate remotely. This excellent practice should be replicated by other assocs! BSA - fully virtual MPSA - hybrid
