Breaking/scoop related: The line for Absolute Bagels on the UWS has changed directions since the recent closure of Garden of Eden. After decades of people lining up on the north side of the popular bagel spot, the line has formed on the south side for the past two weekends.
The change is due to the recent closure of the next-door Garden of Eden market at the end of March. With the fruit stands no longer in operation, bagel customers have lined up in the now empty space underneath the still-standing awning — which is especially helpful on rainy days.
@GusSaltonstall This level of reporting truly is the pinnacle of journalism. Bravo.
@GusSaltonstall “A different longtime customer kept his analysis of the line direction change brief. ‘It changes nothing, there is still a line,’ Upper West Sider and Absolute Bagels regular Joey Viviano said.”
@GusSaltonstall @rodeoman And now they’re blocking the accessibility entrance :(
