I used to see this all the time when I worked. Middle class standards of what a wedding should look like imposed on people with little funds.
Federal Court sets aside a spousal sponsorship refusal because, among other concerns, the officer appeared to treat the fact that all of the guests who attended the couple's wedding in Canada were Asian as a negative factor in assessing the genuineness of the relationship.

@gabestable @CitImmCanada Incorrect, Case Management Branch and Litigation provide ongoing advice to Service Delivery and the various programs when litigation occurs. How a judge's decision is interpreted is a different issue.
@MuntherVFX @CitImmCanada No, that's different. This factors when the applicant has no job in the home country to return to. IMO, this is a more important factor than assets. If someone has few job prospects to return to, the likelihood that they won't return is higher.

@seaden_amy @CitImmCanada Many immigrants take lesser jobs when they immigrate. Canada is often criticized that PRs come and don't have foreign experience recognized. Sometimes, one takes a lesser job to get a foot in the door. Many 🇨🇦 university grads take clerical jobs to get a foot in the GOC door.
