I'm not gonna pretend that being constantly dismissed or passively mocked is ever normal for simply expressing passion. I don't know where we lost the plot but at some point we became complicit with a culture of self defeating antagonism. Anyone giving into this is an idiot.
Vulgar auterism establishes a self defeating canon and art culture the same as rampantly denying the films casually associated with it. Abolish all "movements" and "canons". Love art and give others a modicum of respect. That cannot be too much to ask.
