This is why they were deathly afraid of Trump for the last 10 years. This is why they impeached him twice. This is why some in the gop establishment threw the 2018 midterms. Turns out we dont have to allow widespread fraud in welfare programs if they dont want it. Turns out we dont have to fear terror loving countries plunging the world into a new dark age if they have a set of balls. Turns out we dont have to allow other countries to rip us off in trade if they cared about Americans. Turns out we don't have to become woke to protect minority rights.

All of this is true, to which you add that they refuse to accept that this is not a normal mid-terms, nor a normal president, nor normal times. The Dems did go too far. But just going to the center and being reasonable isn't what this electorate wants, it wants the old system torn down. And they don't want to tear that system down in the Senate, it would prove the people actually still have power and they are not the real power in the US. That is what drives their tautologies... and it's why Cornyn lost big, why McConnell's boy was thrashed, why Massie miscalculated, and why Trump (not the GOP) will win the mid-terms.

Kurz: Der Scherbenhaufen ist nach Merkel, Scholz, Habeck, Baerbock & Co. so groß, dass wir das nicht mehr gebacken bekommen.
