Today, the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame announced that Dick Barnett will be inducted with the Class of 2024. This is a long-overdue recognition for a leader on and off the court. It was my honor to welcome him and his Tennessee A&I teammates to the White House this week.
The Tennessee A&I Tigers broke barriers on the court while fighting injustice off it. In 1957, they became the first HBCU to win a national championship before becoming the first team to win three in a row. It was my honor to welcome them to the White House for the first time.
Via an out of nowhere announcement by Clyde himself live on the broadcast, Knicks legend Dick Barnett has been inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame! Shoutout @RealEarlMonroe who Walt said gave him the inside scoop.
