Baseball is not an equal opportunity sport. The best players play. Especially true for HS level/up. Never met a coach in my 29 years of coaching that was trying to lose. Want more playing time? Get better. So good, in fact, that you are the first name written in lineup each game.
If I had a young son and wanted to give him an advantage athletically(baseball), I would get him in MMA/Martial Arts/Wrestling classes for an array of reasons! Then continue in HS and add strength training.
