I see a lot of traders get caught up in daily loss limits when a lot of the time they kind of make sense for most of you. A lot of you blow accounts in one day or just play the Sim farming game where you don’t mind blowing five accounts every day because you can keep re-upping until you get a set to payout, which is fine for the prop game, but if you wanna be a real trader, learn how to trade for real . Let’s be real a lot of you guys can’t trade or are still really learning how to trade. With a 50 K account with 2K drawdown you can’t be losing $500 plus a day. Risk management is talked about but really never implemented by most traders. I think seeing how fast you can make money and seeing people make thousands of dollars has warped people’s minds on what is achievable in trading. Why can’t you risk $150-$200 to make $300-$400 a day you really shouldn’t be trading more than that, you can trade with micros still possibly get two trades, but you really only need one solid trade a day. I understand prop trading is a little different than trading your own capital but I genuinely feel that if you trade this as it’s your capital it might take longer you might not see bigger numbers at least right away but you will be profitable and a lot if not all traders really need to start there then eventually you will see those bigger numbers and higher payouts. Most people focus on the payout more than actually really becoming a trader. If most of you traded your own capital the way you traded these prop accounts you can have a 50 K personal account and you’ll blow that whole thing. You might as well take longer trying to pass an eval the right way and save your money. Why blow it in one week just to buy another one the next week and blow that one as well. You’re going through multiple evals a month. when yeah, you might get rebilled for the same account but at least you’re trading for real so when you get to a funded, you’re not trying to rush a payout trading the same way. And blow the funded the same way you blew multiple eval why would it be any different? Plus you get to save more money every month . Just my take what I’ve learned over 2.5 years . Am I the most profitable ? No but have I made some money yes.
