@many_styles @EntitledCycling They won't hit a car. I was in that situation recently, riding ~45 kph while car was passing me at ~60 kph in blind corner. I saw a car coming in the opposite direction and slammed on the brakes. Passing car was already wildly swerving back, right into where I was before braking.

@MadAnnMarie @EntitledCycling Oh and not sure what you meant by the comment on being an occasional driver... but if you're driving a car and having trouble anticipating (speed governed E-)cyclists, it could very well be that you are driving too fast.

@MadAnnMarie @EntitledCycling Those are not bike lanes, but moped/bike lanes (G12a). Apart from it still being traffic and requiring some attention, the only problem there is that they're usually not designed well enough to handle the speed difference. Too much space for cars, too little space for the rest.

@AmericanFietser If motorists behave, cyclists need far less separate infrastructure. Contradictory to what you might believe, cycle lanes are not always safe. In some areas the cause móre danger. The cars cause problems separating cyclists as much as possible from them won't solve.
