We recently launched an update that improves note quality while simultaneously increasing the number of notes shown on X by about 6%. This update also identifies 6% more Not Helpful notes, which in turn limits writing ability of authors regularly proposing such notes. It works by identifying notes that contributors from a wide range of viewpoints agree are particularly low quality (for example, that they perceive as abuse or harassment) and then reducing Contributor Helpfulness Scores for raters that rate those notes as helpful. As a result, it gives more weight to contributors who consistently help identify notes that people find helpful. Details and code:
@CommunityNotes Stop allowing Wikipedia as a source for notes.
@CommunityNotes I think we should be able to counter-Note to show the opposing viewpoint of why someone thought a Note was unhelpful. Y'all do remember debate team in school, right?
@CommunityNotes No opinions in community notes. Save them for the comment replies.
@CommunityNotes Citing valid sources is important, might want to consider banning Wikipedia as a valid source because we all know it’s not
@CommunityNotes How many Community Notes do you see a day on X? You really think it’s cause everything else you see is accurate? Of course not. Notes is the exception that proves the rule. They’re a tiny island of sand in an ocean of propaganda and disinformation and lies and conspiracy theories
@CommunityNotes You need to train Grok to do this task and take humans out of the process, otherwise @elonmusk there will always be abuse of the system based on bias.
@CommunityNotes Are there any repercussions for having an excessively large number of community notes that spread false information and propaganda? Specifically referring to Jackson Hinkle.
@CommunityNotes Fabulous! Thank you for taking feedback on board. NNN are time consuming to review. Hopefully this deters abuse of CN 🙏
