Our founder @FatouJagneS took part in the Convening of Curators of Leadership Programs on African Leadership Philosophy organized by @YIAGA and @African Center for Leadership and Strategy Development, with the support of @OpenSociety The initiative is a follow up of a design workshop held last year in Lagos. Participants discussed how philosophies such as Ubuntu, Omoluabi, Sankofa, Ujamaa, Oha na Eze, and Mutumin Kirki, Taranga can be integrated into contemporary leadership development systems. The aim is to build leadership programs and models that are ethically grounded, culturally rooted, and globally relevant. The participants reiterated that the future of leadership in Africa must be rooted in Africa’s own values, experiences, and aspirations. This paradigm shift in reimagining leadership is critical and urgent, especially in a evolving and challenging world, where leadership is more and more tested, transactional in many aspects, where Africa’ voice is inaudible, and youths legitimate demands not met as governance crisis deepens. “Africa needs leaders who imbibe the values of African philosophy, such as collectivism.” Dr. @otiveigbuzor ‘’Africa needs Ubuntu Leaders rooted in its own history and values and experiences ‘’ @DSamsonItodo As the 2 days curators convening concluded, with clarity in the vision and strategy, emerging African creatives and young public leaders converge for a groundbreaking reflection to reclaim African indigenous values and embed them in creative expression, and public leadership.
