My assesment - There are 2 levers of power making sale of #colu hard: RC won’t sell the training ground to new owners - he wants to develop on the land. Colchester council won’t sell the stadium, they also won’t let RC develop Forresters park into a new training ground.

@DBattson 3 failed takeovers point towards a Cowling related issue - my guess is he’s either moving goalposts later on in the negotiations (likely around training ground ownership/lease) or the forensic accountants are finding bodies that drastically reduce the value of the club.

@jollyboyscar Exactly - but important to note the reason Cowling wants to keep Florence Park is so he can develop that land into houses. Colchester Council have restricted his attempts to move the training ground. The club is stuck in limbo due to the petty politics of Cowling & Council.

@jensenwood23 The club is already racking up debt as Cowling uses it as a debt vessel for his other businesses. Attacking the club by boycotting games does nothing to help that situation. Cowling doesn’t care. A more sophisticated method of pressure on Cowling is required.

Failure to sell = duty to invest. Cowling needs to put money in this season to keep us relevant. Larger budget vs last year required. #colu fans rightfully at boiling point - need a statement from Cowling in the next day.

@mattyhudson Require a transparent, thorough explanation from Cowling on what has failed and why. His lack of transparency suggests it’s a him problem. My guess is he’s structuring the deal without full sale, I.e he retains ownership of training ground land etc

@DesignerSmithy @WillTaylorr0 Again, fair assessment on Saudi - I’d argue that state money should not be involved in the club. If we’re talking about individual capital is it any worse than an American investor? Globalism should irk you - it’s the underlying cause of the ills experienced

But we now live in a globalised cash nexus with liquid capital and movement of people - you cannot stop this in the current model of capitalism

Terry at least is British and understands British club culture. That is ultimately better than a US owner

@Tyler7Smith @olibroom Bishop is an interesting one, clearly a quality player but injury prone & hasn’t performed strongly this season + a high salary. To me that points towards takeover confirmed - if we were scraping around on a further reduced Cowling budget we’d cut losses.
