@wolftivy On this point I completely agree. But I'm also convinced that European leaders are neither fit nor ready to handle the next phase, and that's what worries me.
Counterpoint: I'd rather defend the sovereignty of my nation-state against other European nation-states and whatever monstrosity the EU will likely turn into. If Germany starts stockpiling weapons or if the EU starts building an army, I'll feel less strong and safe, not more.
I'm generally anti-war in the US context (spending our lives and money to mess up the world), but European sovereignty against Russia and others is a noble cause. It will be spiritually good for Europe to become strong again.
