She had all of the things.

Shipping pace is the new leading indicator of future success and one of the remaining moats left in software. It encompasses many signals into one: - strong AI adoption - high talent density - low tech debt - modern tech stack - speedy CI/CD pipeline - deep & strict validations - heavy automations - tight customer feedback loop - team are "in the know" - high agency teams Whether you're an investor looking to back a new startup or a candidate deciding where to join, look at their shipping pace; it tells you everything. On high agency: large organizations suffer in this regard. Think of GitHub Copilot, Google Antigravity, or Amazon Kiro, which have faded since their inception. Large orgs have layers of red tape, alignment meetings across various stakeholders, and approvals from cross functional teams to steer the ship; by the time a decision is made, the idea is long outdated.

this is nuts! Mark Cuban just said something every young person should hear. AI agents are GOING to run through every small and mid-size business in the country. not a single one of those owners will know how to build them. his advice is to learn claude. learn agentic workflows. just learn AI and how it works. then go to these businesses and help them because they won’t know how to do any of this shit. they have money to spend. they have deep problems. they don’t have you!

They decided to take over the entire industry instead: "Silicon Valley between 1950 and 2010 was primarily just in the tools business. You'd build a tool like an operating system or a disk drive, sell it to people, and they'd figure out what to do with it. Then something changed. Alternate universe Airbnb is just boutique booking software. A tiny little business building spreadsheet software. But Brian Chesky decided: we're going to go into the hospitality business and compete with hotels directly. Uber and Lyft in the old world were just taxi dispatch software. In the new world, they're full transportation providers. Tesla in the old world would have just been software for self-driving cars. In the new world, it builds the entire car. Facebook, same thing. Prior to Facebook, if you built online ad software, you were selling it to media companies. Mark said: no. We're just going to beat the media company. We're going to build the entire thing. That was the pivot point when the Valley's ambitions went from just building tools to going directly into incumbent industries. And then AI makes that crystal clear. The winning AI companies are raising billions, tens of billions, in some cases hundreds of billions of dollars. The old world of $10,000,000 or $50,000,000 — where VCs tap out — is just not relevant anymore."

DoorDash is laying the groundwork for a crazy move here. Agents will be able to 'hire' humans to do tasks for them in the real world. And this will collect insane amounts of training data for robotics. Kind of genius, kind of terrifying.

my AI coding workflow as a solo founder: - opus 4.6 for exploration + planning - codex 5.4 xhigh to stress-test the plan (catches gaps opus missed) - back to opus, which usually complains codex is overengineering lol - few rounds back and forth. codex implements, opus reviews. - ask both: "safe to ship? what's the worst thing that could happen?" opus and codex arguing over my codebase is my entire engineering team. will probably ship this workflow as a Polsia feature at some point.

The company that actually builds the agent-first code factory is going to be worth hundreds of billions of dollars. No one has cracked it yet. It can't be the model labs because then you're tied to one model. I'm hoping a company like @linear will do this. I'd happily pay thousands of dollars a month for that (+ the token cost). Basically, we need SDLC 2.0 for the agent age. (Also, the right solution can't rely on gh - we need whoever does this to completely replace it as well.)
