@andyengelson @SeattlePD During his brief time with the Tucson police, Dave was the subject of six investigations, including two collisions, before he was fired. Officers raised concerns about Dave's history, but were rebuffed by a lieutenant in SPD's hiring office, who said they were aware of his past.
Every other sandwich in Seattle now costs $22 except the bahn mi at Saigon Deli, which is still charging 2010 prices for the one of the best meals in town. It is a goddamn miracle.
This is a real photo of their menu from April 2024. You are reading that correctly, $5.75 for a pork bahn mi, tax included! I don't know if there's a better value in the city of Seattle than this. The $5 footlong is long gone but the $5 8-inch is alive and well in the CID.
Has anybody in Seattle been working on a comprehensive list of city institutions that are shuddering, closing early, or rolling back services since austerity budgeting set in in 2022? It seems like a lot. Off the top, I can think of pools and libraries - what else? 🤔
