@gavin_spoor Rye can get crazy soddy and make it really difficult for the corn planter. We’ve stripped both spring and fall into covers. Generally fall strips stay cleaner/less sod. But hilly/slopes can wash out. Better answer is indexed covers and a low disturbance coulter in the fall.

Our soil moisture profile is full with more rain falling today. It looks like our #Rye #covercrop is set to go into high gear once the sun comes out. That will remove excess moisture from the seed bed & help choke out resistant Kochia. #poorMansDrainTile

@israel_brett @BothwellLane Never had anything else. My parents built it in '94. Taller means a bit smaller diameter, so less rain water. Zero odours at ground level. Pumping system is integrated, so getting a few loads out is really simple. Also quite safe, kids can't get close vs a ground level pit. $$$$
