Pfizergate II Ursula von der Leyen’s term could be over sooner than anyone thinks — and the final blow might come straight from the EU Court of Justice. Right now there are three cases sitting at the CJEU. If any of them go the right way, they could force her to resign. Here are the first two, ranked by how serious they look: (i) The lawsuit to scrap the EU’s new fast-track arms program called SAFE (Security Action for Europe). This one was filed by Roberta Metsola in the name of the whole European Parliament. (ii) Poland’s lawsuit to kill the EU-Mercosur trade deal. But there’s a third case that could actually bite faster and harder. Back in 2021, a bunch of MEPs and regular citizens demanded to see the secret advance-purchase contracts the Commission signed with Big Pharma for the COVID vaccines (Pfizer/BioNTech, AstraZeneca, Moderna and the rest). They won that case in 2024. As everyone knows by now, the Commission went full North-Korea mode and only handed over versions that were almost completely blacked out. They hid behind “commercial confidentiality,” “protecting the negotiations,” and “personal data” (mainly the names of the people who actually did the negotiating and some of the juiciest clauses). The EU’s General Court said the Commission hadn’t given the public nearly enough access to stuff that clearly matters to taxpayers, and it partially overturned the Commission’s blackout decisions. The Commission appealed to the CJEU. On 11 June 2026, Advocate General Athanasios Rantos basically told the Court: reject the Commission’s appeal. He said transparency about how these vaccine deals were negotiated is a clear public interest. The Commission’s constant secrecy and its refusal to be held accountable for the money is straight-up illegal. (Quick side note: this opinion basically confirms the “conspiracy theory” that everyone got called crazy for saying — that the contracts with the manufacturers include liability shields for the companies if the vaccines cause side effects, even though EU law is supposed to ban that kind of thing.) Rantos also pointed out that giving people only anonymized versions of the “no conflict of interest” declarations doesn’t actually let anyone check whether the negotiators were really impartial. And when you’re talking about billions of euros being spent in a rush, outside normal public procurement rules, that kind of check is pretty damn important for any real democratic oversight. Here’s the annoying part: it’s been five years and we still have zero idea who these “anonymized negotiators” actually were. On top of that, there’s a criminal investigation file that’s just sitting in a drawer somewhere, stuck in the “in rem” stage (they’re looking at the facts but not naming any people yet). Kövesi herself went to war with the Brussels prosecutor’s office to grab the case for the EPPO and then bury it. She won. So good luck ever finding out who’s responsible for blowing 70 billion euros of European taxpayers’ money on vaccines that turned out to be useless or worse. The CJEU is supposed to rule on the Commission’s appeal sometime this summer. An Advocate General’s opinion that’s this clearly against the Commission usually carries a lot of weight, so this one could actually land. And let’s not forget the CJEU already ruled once in the whole Pfizergate saga. Back in May 2025 they looked at those secret text messages between Ursula and Pfizer’s CEO Albert Bourla, where they basically negotiated 35 billion euros worth of vaccines on the side. That was the main reason I pushed the censure motion against her last year. The parliamentary majority (the same one that’s now turning against her) still bailed her out with their votes. So yeah… without getting too optimistic, there’s that old Romanian saying: even if the wheel is square, it still turns eventually. @vonderleyen @EP_President

About the fire at the Dormition Cathedral at Kiev Pechora Lavra: An Iskander-M carries a 480–700kg warhead. A Zircon carries an estimated 300–400kg warhead but strikes at Mach 8+ — the kinetic energy alone is devastating before you factor in the explosive yield. Either one striking the Dormition Cathedral would have left a crater where a thousand-year-old cathedral used to stand. The structure would be unrecognisable. What we see is a roof fire, which , as in many other cases, is the work of Ukrainian AD and the debris falling on top of the building. Russia obviously didn't target one of the most ancient cultural sites of the Orthodox Christianity, but this will sure give Zelensky some propaganda ammo to beg for some more money during the G7 summit that starts today. Knowing some previous instances of Zelensky's regime producing some loud propaganda before similar meetings, one can not exclude a nefarious deliberate action by the nanoführer to manufacture consent.
