@ValsparPaintUK I painted a room in Valspar Trade vinyl matt (colour: Gritty) last week and I'm very disappointed with the durability. A light touch or brush with clothing causes a scuff mark. Seems a defective product. How can this be remedied?

@BBCFergusWalsh A sustainable NHS is incompatible with private provision. When you bring profit-making and the imperative for year-on-year growth into a public service, ballooning costs are inevitable. We need a fully publicly provided NHS, in which we get out what we put in.

@keepnhspublic @guardian Private companies are impelled to take out more than they put in, otherwise they go bust. They also need to extract more profit every year in order to grow and appease their shareholders. This is quite obviously a recipe for the end of the NHS.

Am I alone in thinking it is wrong for consultants to strike? Nurses, paramedics, junior doctors, yes, they are just ‘workers’ but consultants are senior leaders, just like senior managers. They demean themselves by striking.

@bykatewomersley This figure includes student loans! RPI + 3% is an incredible ROI. Many doctors will pay back ~£250,000 over the course of their careers. Also, we all know the £33k stipend to NHS trusts is just an unofficial funding stream. Only a fraction is spent on Med Ed.

@Dr_JSA I think perhaps you misunderstand me. The way certain people have conducted themselves in the public domain has been inappropriate and incompetent. The press have linked that to FPR and will continue to do so. The best thing we can do is learn from it, do better, and move on.
