Dear ministry of IT, Scammers are reportedly using Slack & MS teams to leak NEET papers. Kindly issue a ban.

Today is the start of a new era of natively multimodal AI innovation. Today, we’re introducing the first Llama 4 models: Llama 4 Scout and Llama 4 Maverick — our most advanced models yet and the best in their class for multimodality. Llama 4 Scout • 17B-active-parameter model with 16 experts. • Industry-leading context window of 10M tokens. • Outperforms Gemma 3, Gemini 2.0 Flash-Lite and Mistral 3.1 across a broad range of widely accepted benchmarks. Llama 4 Maverick • 17B-active-parameter model with 128 experts. • Best-in-class image grounding with the ability to align user prompts with relevant visual concepts and anchor model responses to regions in the image. • Outperforms GPT-4o and Gemini 2.0 Flash across a broad range of widely accepted benchmarks. • Achieves comparable results to DeepSeek v3 on reasoning and coding — at half the active parameters. • Unparalleled performance-to-cost ratio with a chat version scoring ELO of 1417 on LMArena. These models are our best yet thanks to distillation from Llama 4 Behemoth, our most powerful model yet. Llama 4 Behemoth is still in training and is currently seeing results that outperform GPT-4.5, Claude Sonnet 3.7, and Gemini 2.0 Pro on STEM-focused benchmarks. We’re excited to share more details about it even while it’s still in flight. One of the most under-rated product companies to have come from namma bengaluru; Doesn't get the love & attention it deserves. Whoever is the founder and the team, you guys deserve an applause for skillfully dsigning and bringing this utility to life; 👏 rideriver.com
Devastatingly, we have lost a bright light in our field. Felix Hill was not only a deeply insightful thinker -- he was also a generous, thoughtful mentor to many researchers. He majorly changed my life, and I can't express how much I owe to him. Even now, Felix still has so much to give -- to all of us. Below, I've compiled some of his writings that I think would be inspiring to anyone in the field. They reflect his unusual perspective, his incisive writing, and his irreverent, witty sense of humor. It's a pleasure and an epiphany to read any of these. I hope this is a small way to help ensure that Felix's light continues to shine, as it deserves to -- 1. Why do transformers work so well on language? (bit.ly/4h1IbeR) Atypically few jokes in this one, but starting around 0:32:00 Felix answers a fundamental question that I've never seen addressed so well. He ties the architectural properties of the transformer 1:1 to properties of language. I think this perspective is so illuminating and incredibly underappreciated. 2. What deep learning can teach us about linguistics and science (bit.ly/4gGFmzZ). It starts with a pretty entertaining refutal of Chomskian linguistics, and then dives into an optimistic and pretty irrefutable argument about why neural networks can teach us about language. 3. How to write a paper (bit.ly/40698qO). One of many things I learned from Felix -- he taught me to put together a research story from the beginning, including imagined results. This narrative helps guide the research, even if the story might change with each new set of experiments. 4. The bittersweet lesson (bit.ly/3BLsEky). Felix wrote this a few weeks before he died, and it's a unique, insightful take on the bitter lesson. He asked for feedback but sadly I got overwhelmed with other things and it stayed on my todo list for too long.. I didn't get to tell him what a beautiful essay I thought it was, and how much he still had to contribute... 5. Mental health in (AI) research (bit.ly/3BT3lwW). If you are struggling, please do reach out for help, and please do hold on. There may not always be a complete fix, but there are always ways to make things significantly better. I believe this from the bottom of my heart
NPTEL is one of the best knowledge banks created in India. Engineering students should use it as much as they can. Kudos to IIT Madras for making it grand.
If you were aware of Atomberg and purchased a fan priced > Rs 3000 in the last 12-18 months from a different brand, why did you do so? You can DM/share in comment As our awareness levels are slowly increasing, figuring out if there is anything common amongst aware non buyers
As if it wasn’t clear already VW illustrates the giant, ticking time-bomb at the heart of Europe’s economic model. The European economy is based on two things, industrial production and selling the past.
Left: Influential Indian actress Ms. Samantha Ruth who is unfortunately a health and science illiterate advising millions of her followers to inhale hydrogen-peroxide to prevent and treat respiratory viral infections. Right: Scientific society, The Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America, warning people to not nebulize and breathe in hydrogen peroxide because it is dangerous for health. community.aafa.org/blog/danger-do… In a rational and scientifically progressive society, this woman will be charged with endangering public health and fined or put behind bars. She needs help or a better advisor in her team. Will India's Health Ministry or any health regulatory body do something about these social media health influenzas damaging public health or will they remain spineless and let people die?
Bangalore good safety folks, please wake up. Your friends in Telangana are doing a fabulous job.

In 2017 when I started seeing patients with severe liver disease for which we could not find a cause for, and eventually over a year we found that it was due to traditional Indian Ayurvedic medicines and herbal and dietary supplements, there was one case that stood out. A young mother who died of liver failure after using Herbalife supplements for 2 months. I went on to publish that report in an official journal of a national Indian hepatology society, the first from Asia Pacific continent. Herbalife came in with all it's muscle and legal might and threatened me, my co-authors and the Indian hepatology society president and journal editorial board, to remove the "defamatory" publication. I did not budge and told them I'll see them in court. But the journal editorial board and then president decided it was a fight they did not want. People were anyway going to die due to ill informed healthcare choices and this report or the education on it, was not going to change anything. At a senior level Gastroenterology & Hepatology decision meeting, they did not allow me, to express my side of the story, the strong evidence that I had to keep the peer-reviewed publication, and, the great public health concern that herbal and dietary supplements were killing people from avoidable liver failure, and, the need for doctors to publish and educate on this grave topic. A VERY SENIOR Gastroenterology & Hepatology professor took me to the side of the breakfast room and told me: "I know you are enthusiastic, as I was your age. But even if you realize that the prime minister is a fool, you don't go shouting the prime minister is a fool. You keep quite and join others in saying the prime minister is not a fool, even though deep inside you know it is not. So do your 9-5 work and be happy." - He was working in a central government program at the time. I knew then this was going to be a long lonely fight. I have never had peer support from colleagues and specialist societies during the time I had to face deep harassments from my public health education on complementary and alternative medicines and related liver health occasions over the years. When I started publishing more on this topic and in high impact journals, instead of becoming an ally, I became a threat to my peers - so much that since last 6 years, none of the specialist level national hepatology meetings in India, conducted by Indian societies would ever put up the topic on herbal liver injury due to Ayush and dietary supplements. Not a single one. I was never invited to speak on this topic at national stage too. It seemed some of the senior professors who ran the show, lacked a spine and felt insecure when faced with this topic and intimidated by my presence. In due course, as I had told my senior professor at the time, complementary and alternative medicine became the most common cause of liver failure due to drug-induced liver injury in Asia and second most common in India. But they are still not bothered. The evidence I generated on Ayush and liver injury and the legal battles with herbal and dietary supplements company that was born out of that loneliness, is etched in time. I went on to become The Liver Doc who spent personal hard earned money to test alternative medicine and educate results to the public...and the professor who "advised me to lay low and quit" retired and became inconsequential. I knew that the majority of Indian doctors would do jack sh*t for the public when it came to public health education and preventative medicine. They're just 9-5 job businessmen. My radicalisation towards evidence based medicine and the knowledge it brought to the good of public came full circle.
The career advice I give to early career engineers is to rotate between platform/infra work and application work regularly in the first 5 years of your career. It helps build perspective, shared empathy, and keeps things interesting. Many will eventually lean more heavily in one direction and build deep expertise, but I recommend resisting this for at least the first few years. Stay uncomfortable for a while.
