@ShinMarginalScr True in general ofc (games should be critically analysed like any media) but the specific example of Fog of War in Civ / exploration games is a really bad one. It’s just used to model lack of information. And in games like EU4 it actually does affect your own troops etc as well

@_vonarchimboldi I think the problem is that these people don’t bother to read what makes great books great and map out an intellectual lineage. If they don’t understand a book, they note it down as overrated etc without bothering to delve deeper. IMO it’s a childish and incurious way of life
